Sista April
And finally the day arrived! The 30th of April (sista April, the last day of April).
For the historical facts, this is a traditionnal day where the return of the sun is celebrated among Sweden. There are many gatherings in the different cities. The event is particularly followed by students, and especially in students cities like Uppsala and Lund.
More or less all the erasmus students were going yesterday to Uppsala then. Me and my friends took the train around 9:00 in Stockholm.
Ari and Nicole.
Benjamin and me.
Pel, Audrey and Christelle.
And many others...
After 40 minutes, we finally arrived! Uppsala, here we are!

We arrived for the beginning of the boat race in the canal, downtown Uppsala, a traditionnal event in the day. But because we arrived just on time, and because it was VERY crowded, we couldn't see properly... Therefore Pel, Benjamin and I decided to climb up a tree to have a wider view.
Benjamin.
Me and Pel.

Some pictures of the canal and the boats. Check how crowded it was.

It was funny and interesting to see these student made boats, but not completely crazy as well. So we decided to resume with the calimocho.

Then we went to buy a barbecue for lunch. And sat down in the grass like everyone else. On our way, with Youssef.

We spent a good part of the afternoon there, had lunch, played cards, talked and so on. In pictures.
The group.

Setting up the barbecues.
Goofing with Ari's scarf.
Audrey and pel cooking the food.
Ariadna wanted to rest under the sun... no no no!

From this point, the swedes were starting to be really drunk...
After a while, we decided to move and see what was going on in the streets! Probably the most crowded moment during the day!!

I was there. And calimocho as well!
Pel and I found this ad and played with it...

We ended again in the grass, played some more games. I introduced to my friends my "home made" Uno rules made up by me and my friends back in France: Uno mongolization. They all enjoyed it very much, we'll have to play again!!
Some more drinks.

Refilling the batteries, a long night is looming.

Around 18:00, Pel and Christelle left to Stockholm to see some concert and we went on playing games, drinking as well.
After a 'delicious' Max, we wandered in the streets. As it was quite crowded, Ari Laura and I lost the other part of the group. I met my german buddies, but finally the three of us decided to meet back the initial part of the group, which was in one of the Nations.
The Nations are the different student departments of the University of Uppsala. To enter their buildings where were organised parties, I had to buy a temporary student card from Uppsala some days ago. After some time in line, Ari Laura and I finally entered the Nation where Audrey, Nicole and Benjamin were. The others had left meanwhile to Stockholm (too bad for them).
We sat down for a while, preparing for the night. Ari Benjamin and Nicole.
Me and Nicole.
And went dancing.

Pel arrived back again from his concert, slightly after before Ari and Laura left to catch the last train...
We went crazy again (I must admit the alcohol we drank helped hehe), put again some hair gel and had lots of fun with Audrey, Benjamin and Nicole!!!
Old style.
New style.
And let's get crazy!
Yeah!
Colorful night!
Party on!
Crazy dancing!!
And some breaks in between.

At 4:00, end of the parties in Uppsala. No more music, time to leave... even if I'm still full of energy!!

We walked to the train station, in the dirty streets that were starting to get cleaned (they were really needing it!). The problem is that the train station was only opening at 5:00, and that our train leaving at 7:00. Everyone but me was tired and sleepy. After 2 hours of talking alone and goofing around, I however got tired too and had a quick nap on a bench.

Finally, I got back home around 8h30, had 3 hours of sleep, a mountain dew, and then was ready to study swedish... Back to reality!
