Ski

Today, Guillaume and I went skiing. We had been talking about it for days now, so we finally decided to do it.

We checked on internet for resorts not too far from Sockholm and found severals, in the south of the city. We chose the highest and biggest one... which was in fact still very VERY small... Only 4 slopes and 100m high...

Anyway, we wanted to go. We took the subway and then the bus, and finally arrived 1hour and 30 minutes later there... where we realized 2 of the slopes were closed, and one was in preparation. Which was leaving only one slope... hehe.

After we rented all what we needed, we started skiing.

The snow wasn't bad, even if it became a bit heavy at the end of our day.
Me.

Guillaume.

After going down several times on the only open slope, we decided to try the second slope, the one in preparation:

There were huge blocks of snow everywhere, but it was better than doing the first one again I guess. Plus there was a snow park with rails at the end of it, where Guillaume and I tried several jumps and tricks.

Going up the hill later during the day (as the light was going down).

We had much fun today, skiing in Sweden, even if the place was quite (very?) small! I won't go there every week end, but I enjoyed it a lot...

... except waiting for this stupid bus while coming back! We had to wait for more than 2 hours the first bus which allows to reach the bus stop where the bus to the subway can be taken. Anyway, we hitchhiked there, and then waited 30 minutes!

But it will be a nice souvenir I guess!

A walk in Stockholm

As the sun was shining and the sky beautifuly blue, Christelle, Audrey, Pel and I went in town for a walk.

We walked around Skepsholmen, a small island in the near the city center, in the cold and the snow.

We simply had a very good time, chatting and taking some pictures.

As we started freezing after some time, we decided to go have a coffee in the Modern Art Museum. We messed up with the cushions there...

...and made weird faces!

It was funny.

A cold but very nice afternoon!

And Guillaume turned 23...

Yesterday was Guillaume's birthday!

Of course, we celebrate this. We organized a surprise dinner, followed by a surprise dessert (since even more people came then...).

It was a bit tricky, because he was supposed to come back at 21:00, then we would do the first surprise: a dinner with Sophie, Ari, Laura, Pel, Timo, Christelle, Youssef, Anna (the new dutch girl replacing Julien) and me. Finally at 22:00, the rest of the people was supposed to arrive with cakes and candies.

The problem is that Guillaume and Christelle came back from their course around 21:30, we had to find out what he was doing!!

We had to have dinner in a hurry. Still, it was funny! Here's how he reacted when he entered the flat where we were all waiting for him.

The candles and his presents: pictures of us.

Then the second part of the group arrived. Dessert time. Here's the 'charlotte' Pel and I had baked the day before.

And finally how it all looked like...

And Ari and Guillaume... Happy birthday!

And the snow arrived...

At last, the snow arrived!

It started snowing saturday in the end of the afternoon, and it didn't stop until late in the night!

This morning, the whole city was completely white! Here you can see the small parc in front mf my building.

And here the bikes next to my window.

In order to digest a bit and to take some more pictures, we decided to go for a walk after lunch. We headed toward a lake I know from my joggings. On the way, we (mainly Guillaume) of course started some snow fights. Youssef tasting the swedish snow...

Me and Ari.

We finally arrived near my lake, where we took this picture in a small square nearby.

On our way back, near another small lake.

When we arrived back, we all watched together the pictures we had taken while sipping warm chocolate (except me who ended up with some burnt milk...). It was nice!

Overall, I had a good time this sunday!

Back in town, poker evening

Here I am, back in Stockholm!

The 3 last days have been quite busy with my new courses, a 'welcome back dinner' on tuesday night and a disappointing allhuset party on wednesday (I had been expecting to see more friends than I actually did... many of them couldn't enter the place, it was too crowded).

Hopefully, the week end has arrived! And yesterday, we decided to gather in Lappis to have a casual poker evening. Guillaume, Sophie, Youssef, Emilie, Ari and I put on warm clothes (it's quite cold in Stockholm, it snowed yesterday and it's now around -1°C), and met the others there.

Ari waiting for Guillaume.

Once there, we started teaching poker to the ones that didn't know how to play. Here a german guy, Ari, me and Emilie.

Timo and a german girl.

Youssef, Guillaume and Pel.

I ended up teaching Ari the ways of poker. At least I tried, and it worked quite well considering how many chips we got after 2 rounds... She seemed to enjoy it:

Then we splat the group in 2. The serious (and boring...) table...

... and the messy (and fun!) table!

Funny evening, it's nice to be back in Stockholm even if the cold is finally coming!

Stockholm, part 2

Today is my last day in France, I'll be flying back to Stockholm tomorrow...

I had wonderful vacations here. Christmas with my family, new year's eve with my friends from Grenoble, one week of pure happiness in Paris... 2007 is my lucky year !

And now it's time to start the second part of my erasmus year in Stockholm. Since july, some have left and will be missed. Julien, Yujun, Emiliano... if you read this... Some new friends will arrive and become part of the group, wait and see. Hopefully many are staying. Wonderful friends, until the end. Pel, Ari, Guillaume, Laura, Christelle, Timo and many others...

One of my last pictures of 2006: my 6 best friends from Grenoble. From left to right, Jesus,Tom, me, Eric, Etienne, Thibaut, Julien, and another friend, Boris.

See you tomorrow.
