Xmas party

I was invited yesterday night at Fredrika's christmas party.

As it was a swedish christmas party, we got to drink lots of glögg, the swedish warm wine, and eat many different pastries and cookies, including pepparkakor of course! For all the ones that went in Lund with me in 2005, there were also these little snail-shaped cakes that we made in the "cabin" (they are called lussebulle).

I brought with me Timo. Along with another german and an australian, we were pretty much the only non-swedish people in a 20 person group that you can see here:

It was fun. I spent quite a lot of time with Timo, making, tasting and drinking glögg. That was fun.

German/French alliance!

We both agreed that we could really feel in sweden there. First everybody brang his own alcohol, and mainly sticked to it. You don't share so much here. Then the swedes got joyful drinking. Some started dancing on ABBA music. That was fun. No one got bloody drunk though, only soft 'craquages' (french for "short and intense moment of crazyness").

I tried to listen a bit to what the swedes said, but I couldn't get it at all. I still need to practice.

Overall we had a lot of glögg, swedish cakes and cookies, and swedes entertaining us. I had a very good time!

1 Comments:

  • Maybe your sweds talked about IKEA, and the latest wood shelves called "kolvångrut" or "je ne sais quoi". That's why you didn't catch what they said...
